Olek is a man who combines personal charm, charisma and an elite level of sportsmanship. This has earned him the respect and affection of fans in Poland and around the world. He proves his professionalism and great approach to life on and off the pitch.
Aleksander Sliwka is a complete volleyball player, hungry to play, whose finger injury during a Champions League match has not fazed him at all. He still has a lot of challenges and tournaments ahead of him, including the Olympic Games, which start this year!
The start of a career
Aleksander Sliwka comes from a volleyball family. His parents practised the sport and passed their passion on to their son. Śliwka began his career at Spartakus Jawor, a club from the town where he comes from. He achieved his first successes while still in the youth teams and did not rest on his laurels as he grew older. His showcase of achievements has only grown and, as of today, he can boast podium places in almost all major volleyball tournaments.
Sports achievements
These most key achievements include a World Championship gold medal, a League of Nations gold medal, a gold medal for the Hubert Jerzy Wagner Memorial, as well as numerous gold medals in the Champions League, Polish Cup, Polish Championship and Polish Super Cup. Aleksander Sliwka is also European Champion and World Cup Vice-Champion for the 2019 season.
Olek won the most trophies while playing for ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle. It was at this club that he achieved the Champions League gold medal three times in a row, between 2021 and 2023.
Representative of Poland
Sliwka began representing our country in 2014, and since 2015 he has been playing in the first squad and has been an integral part of the Polish National Team. Last year, he even managed to win third place in the Przegląd Sportowy poll for the best sportsman of the year for his excellent representative season and achievements in the club team.
New year means new challenges for the Polish National Team
A lot of challenges await our representatives this season. The struggle will begin in May during the League of Nations, then we will see the Hubert Jerzy Wagner Memorial, and at the end of July, we will watch volleyball at the highest level during the Olympic Games in Paris. Let's keep our fingers crossed that Aleksander Sliwka and the whole team will experience as many great moments as in 2023!
